Huey & Dasher

About us

We are Lieuwe and Jennifer and we live in Kolham, a small town near the city of Groningen in the North of the Netherlands. We have three male tollers, McKai, Huey and his son Dasher.

We got our first toller Kay-lo in 2008. He is also the reason why we fell in love with this breed so deeply.  Kay-lo really was an easy going work-a-holic and his passion to work was amazing to see. His looks, his temperament and his way of doing things completly stole our hearts.

When Kay-lo was 2,5 years old we brought home our second toller McKai. Kay-lo showed McKai all the things there is to know in the world of being a dog in our household. McKai has also grown up into an amazing working dog.

Lieuwe was training Kay-lo and Jennifer was training McKai. Both dogs were active gundogs in competitions but also in the field. It's an amazing experience to be able to work with dogs who love to work with and for you.

When Kay-lo was 8 years old we welcomed  our third Toller, Huey, to our pack. Although Kay-lo was still working amazing in the field at that time, he didn't enjoy the competitions anymore and we knew that in a couple of years his body would experience some difficulties in the field due to the tough areas he has to work in. Therefore, we thought it would be the best time to train Huey so he could learn from Kay-lo and take over from him when things would get to heavy for our oldest friend.

In 2020 we imported a son of Huey from Finland. His name is Dasher and just like the other boys he is an active gundog that loves to work.

We work actively with our dogs, mainly in hunting (retrieving (dummies and cold game), blood work, practical hunt) but also nose work, body awareness are activities we do with our dogs. We enjoy working with them and fortunately they also find it great to work for us.

Because of our dogs we have met some amazing people along the way. Some of them we can even call our best friends, which is an amazing bonus of having a dog. We also became more experienced in different disciplines. We started showing our dogs at dog shows and started competing in countries outside the Netherlands (shows, tolling tests and blood tracking). So you could argue that a dog really enriches your life.

We believe that our dogs have many fine qualities which would be very beneficial and valuable to pass on to the next generation. This is why we have done all the possible health tests to make them available as a stud dog. We try to do our best to make the best possible combinations to improve this breed, by looking at the breed standard, the looks, health and character of all the dogs involved.

On our website you can find a lot of information about our dogs and our activities. Please contact us if you would like to know more about our boys.
